SimGasProdProcessFrom 8th Annual International Workshop of Methane Hydrate Research and Development, 2012
International Workshop for Methane Hydrate R&D was held in Sapporo, Japan on 28 May – 1 June 2012. This workshop series began in 2000 as a small gathering of invited experts from government, industry, and academia with the intention of serving as a catalyst for international R&D collaborations. Subsequent workshops have been open to all interested parties and have been held at various venues, including the United States, Chile, Canada, the U.K., Norway, and New Zealand. The workshops comprise a series of keynote addresses to frame the current state of methane hydrate R&D throughout the world, followed by breakout discussion sessions to identify critical research needs and to develop plans for cooperative projects.  Poster sessions are organized to allow workshop participants to disseminate their results and to promote dialogue between attendees. The International Steering Committee, lead by Richard Coffin, Bjorn Kvamme, Stephen Masutani, Hideo Narita and Tsutomu Uchida have been responsible for the development and continuation of this workshop. → Go to Full Article
